How To Make Easter Eggs? Find Out Simple Easter Egg Design Ideas

Easter Egg Faces

Easter is just around the corner. Shall we make our Easter eggs special this year? Let us turn a simple Easter egg into a piece of art. Ingredients of this artwork are all edible and commonly found in most kitchens. This can be done by anyone, but children of course will enjoy it the most.

Things we need are the following:

  1. Medium plain chocolate Easter egg –1
  2. white marzipan or ready-to-roll decoration icing – 250 g
  3. dark chocolate – 50 g
  4. red, yellow, and green food colouring
  5. sifted icing sugar for dusting
  6. cellophane and ribbon for wrapping
  7. saucepan or microwave
  8. small bowl
  9. chopping board
  10. small sieve
  11. small rolling-pin
  12. small knife

Time needed: one hour (plus hardening)

Let’s do it

  1. Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt it in the bowl. This is done by placing the bowl in a saucepan that contains water that has been just boiled. The water should be very hot. If you are using a microwave oven, melt it in the oven for one and a half minutes at full power, or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Divide the decoration icing or the marzipan into four pieces. Keep one piece white and colour the rest using red, yellow and green food colourings.
  3. Now you can unwrap the chocolate egg carefully.
  4. Mould or roll out small pieces of coloured marzipan or icing into hair, eyes, mouth, nose, ears, feet and whatever other features that you would like the face to have. Stick these features on to the eggs using the melted chocolate. (You can dust your hands and the work surface with sifted icing sugar if the icing or the marzipan begins to stick.)
  5. Let the decorated egg harden. If necessary, place it in the refrigerator. You can wrap each egg in cellophane and tie with a ribbon. If you would like to gift it to someone, you could gift wrap it.

Your Easter egg face is ready. You can create a whole family of Easter eggs this way. Not just faces, but animals and birds can also be moulded like this. It is a great new way to celebrate Easter.

Wish you a very special and joyful Easter!
