Lamont “The Reaper” Roach Jr. is coming home.

The 28-year-old D.C. native will defend his World Boxing Association super featherweight title against 12th-ranked Feargal “Fearless” McCrory at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Ward 8 on June 28.

Roach (24-1-1, 9 KO), a Golden Gloves and USA Boxing youth championship winner, won the WBA title with a dramatic split-decision win over Hector Garcia in November in Las Vegas, four years after falling short in his first title fight against Jamel Hamel.

McCrory of Coalisland, Northern Ireland, enters the bout with a 16-0 record.

“Coming home to defend my title is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to fight in front of so many friends and family,” Roach said. “I know [McCrory’s] coming for my world title, wanting to keep his ‘O’ and a name for himself.”

The card is promoted by NoXcuse Promotion, led by Lamont Roach Sr., who trains and manages his son. Tickets range from $75 to $500 and will go on sale soon through all Ticketmaster outlets with select bouts to be streamed live on ProBox TV.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the first bout scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

“ProBoxTV is excited about working with Lamont Roach Sr. and Jr.,” said ProBoxTV owner Gary Jonas. “They want to do it their way and they want to fight in D.C. in front of their people. We’ve been able to give them the support they need to make it happen on their terms and we’re excited to put on a solid championship production.”

The undercard will feature a pro boxing debut bout of flyweight Jordan Roach, Lamont Roach’s younger brother. A seven-time national champion, Jordan was the #1 seed in the 2024 Olympic Trials, while capturing a Bronze Medal with Team USA in the men’s open division at the 2023 Grand Prix International Tournament in the Czech Republic.

Jordan’s NoXcuse teammate, welterweight Benjamin Johnson, is from the District and a 12-time national amateur who will also have his pro debut.

The card will also feature Rianna Rios of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, a former, two-time Elite National, National PAL and Golden Gloves champion, who is set to fight for the WBA Bantamweight Championship.

Two undefeated D.C. fighters — lightweight Deric “Scooter” Davis, a product of the city’s Department of Parks & Recreation and welterweight David Whitmire — will look to continue their winning ways in the ring’s undercard.
